History of Civil War Generals collectible booklets included in packs of Duke’s Cigarettes.
John Bell Hood, 1831-1879 born in Owingsville, Kentucky, attended West Point with several men who would become Union generals. He like Johnston served in the U.S. Army in several western campaigns prior to the Civil War. Hood survived the war and became a cotton broker and ran an insurance company in New Orleans. He died of yellow fever in 1879.
