Counseling Concepts and Applications for Student Affairs Professionals (CNS 577)
Abstract
With over 5,300 colleges and universities in the U.S. alone, finding a higher education institution that fits your strengths, preferences, and goals becomes an ever more daunting task bringing confusion, uncertainty, and stress into the lives of high schoolers. This video, targeted to high school sophomores and juniors, will review some major factors that could influence post-high school educational plans. Topics discussed include size, public and private, in-state and out-of-state, types of programs, educational goals, and “nontraditional” options. After viewing this video, our hope is that the student will be able to make more informed choices about which institutions to focus on during their college search process.
