Abstract
Article discusses the origin and development of the Kentucky Literary Awards, statewide awards given to Kentucky authors who pen distinguished fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. The annual awards are presented in conjunction with the Southern Kentucky Book Fest in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The article discusses criteria for the awards, judge selection, and how rankings are compiled.
