Letter, 14 July 1851, from Arthur Fox Wood, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to “Tom” in Mason County, Kentucky. He compares Philadelphia (and its women) unfavorably to Mason County, reports on his medical studies, deplores abolitionism in the North, and asks about family and friends.
