Dear Dr. Thompson:
I hope you will be able to provide me with a little information on racial desegregation at Western Kentucky State College. I am collecting this information primarily for inclusion in a statistical summary being prepared for SOUTHERN SCHOOL NEWS. We also would like to have answers for our files at The Courier-Journal. I would appreciate it very much if these questions could be answered:
- What was the date of desegregation at your school?
- Was it by court order or voluntarily?
- What is total enrollment?
- How many white students now? How many Negroes? (Please make estimate if exact figures aren't available.)
