Description

Mabel Anderson was born September 7, 1930 in Birmingham Alabama. She was one of the first African-American female faculty members to be hired at Western Kentucky University in 1966. Anderson obtained her B.S. degree Tuskegee Institute in 1950, as well as her M.A. from Michigan State University in 1952. She also obtained her Doctorate in Education in 1965 at Pennsylvania State University. Before acquiring her position at WKU, Anderson was a professor at Tennessee State University in 1963.
