Baughman's No. 1 [10 pounds, cloth flour bag] produced by the Baughman Milling Company in Stanford, Kentucky. The bag was manufactured by the Werthan Bag Corporation in Nashville, Tennessee. The paper label was pasted on to a white cotton bag boasting a blue and gold floral motif. Flour manufacturers often used brightly colored fabric to attract buyers. This cloth was used for all types of purposes: backing for quilts, utilitarian rags and towels, curtains, even clothing.
