"This is to certify that Woodford M. Houchin entered in the service of the United states as a captain on the 18th day of September 1861 in Company E, 11th Regiment of Kentucky, Infantry and served 3years, 3 months and 00 days and was honorable discharged on the 31 day of December 1963 for promotion. Reenlisted as a Major on the 1st day of January 1864 in Company 11th Regiment of Kentucky....
