Description
Wool carpet, red and white, 48 1/2 inches in diameter.
The decision in 1963 to remodel the Health & Physical Education Building into a new library facility prompted a number of alumni to want the jump circle preserved. When the renovation was completed in 1965, the exact location of the jump circle was prominent in red and white vinyl in the reference room.
At the insistence of the librarians who wanted some other material than vinyl, it was redone in wool carpeting and has continued to be a nostalgic reminder, as well as conversation piece, of the era when the rafters of the packed gym echoed with enthusiastic yells for Coach Diddle's winning teams.
