Description
Troop train leaving station with many men hanging out the windows bidding farewell to people on the platform below. The train company is not identified on the car, but it is believed these are troops that trained in Savannah, Georgia, possibly the Kentucky Third Infantry, during the Spanish-American War. From Savannah they would have been taken to Florida for transport to Cuba. This is one of a number of photographs collected by Frank M. Thomas when he served as Chaplain for the Third Kentucky Infantry U.S.V. in Cuba.
