Description

Edward and Julia Satterfield House. It is located on the SW shoulder of US 231 in Allen Springs, Kentucky. Construction on this house began in 1902, but Edward Satterfield moved into it in 1911. Satterfield was from a prominent Allen County family. He operated as a mortician out of this house for some years. It is a good example of a Queen Anne style house constructed out of yellow poplar. Additionally, this structure is listed on the National Register of Historic places for Allen County.
